Join us in the making of our Dapur Kelapa (Coconut Kitchen). During this two session workshop we will build a set of 3 cooking stoves using the rocket stove technique. The outcome will be a super high-efficiency wood-burning cooking facility for The Kul Kul Farm’s new kitchen space. We will only need 1kg of wood to keep the fire burning for 1 hour!
This hands-on workshop will teach you how to design and build a sustainable cooking stove using recycled materials. You will leave the workshop with the know-how and hands- on skills to be able to apply what you’ve learn as it best fits into your context – for cooking, heating, or both.
You will learn
Principles and techniques in Rocket Stove design and building; how it works, why use it and how to build it,
Basic hands-on skills in metal welding,
Soil testing for adobe constructions,
How to make mud bricks and cob finishings,
Balinese cooking on our brand new Rocket Stove.
